SPRING CONCERT

Brooks & Dunn will headline The ShowDown at Oklahoma State University April 3 at 8 p.m. in Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Stillwater stop of the “Red Dirt Road Tour” also features Joe Nichols and Josh Turner. The ShowDown is the first concert to be held in Gallagher-Iba Arena since its recent renovation and is sponsored and coordinated by OSU’s Student Union Activities Board in conjunction with Special Events and Campus Life.

“We are especially excited to welcome Ronnie Dunn on his first return to Oklahoma since his recent induction to the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame,” said Chris McCall, SUAB president. “There is no better place to have a ‘welcome-back concert’ than Gallagher-Iba.”

Built in 1938, the historic building has undergone a massive $55 million construction project over the past few years. Gallagher-Iba Arena, lovingly called the “rowdiest arena in the country,” will hold approximately 9,000 for this event.

In January 2004, SUAB held a “Name that Concert Contest” to name the concert series. Nick Gregory, a marketing senior at OSU, won the contest with his unique and inventive entry – The ShowDown. SUAB plans to organize The ShowDown each spring, offering new and popular artists to OSU students and the surrounding communities.

At OSU, SUAB exists to provide a carefully planned set of programs and services that will add to the educational, social, cultural and recreational experiences. The operations of SUAB are entirely planned and organized by students for students.
